From a start-up to an international player

Quality is no coincidence

This philosophy made the systron GmbH from Wolfsbach achieving many goals. In 2014, technician and designer Franz Schachner and software developer Reinhard Gruber decided to develop and build high-tech, user-friendly CNC glass processing machines. Their success proves them right, they now employ 58 people and are already selling their machines in 18 countries throughout Europe. “We as the systron team combine our extensive specialist knowledge with a great deal of commitment every day and work together to develop extraordinary solutions for vertical glass processing,” says Franz Schachner.

Patents create important Unique Selling Points

Well-known companies in the flat glass industry trust in the developments and sophisticated technology of systron, as the company can also refer to the use of two patents: “The waterjet glass cutting technology with a water jet of up to 4000 bar enables fast cutting of inner and outer contours. With highest quality and precision and in the shortest possible cycle time. The contours can then be tempered without post-processing,” explains Franz Schachner and Reinhard Gruber adds: “Our patented water cushion follows the glass surface and ensures continuous tool cooling.” Economic Councilor Jochen Danninger visited the company at the end of August and was impressed: “The company systron has created important jobs here in Wolfsbach in recent years. The company has developed from a start-up into a glass processing machine manufacturer that competes with the best companies on the international market.” He adds:

“It is really great that all processing is possible in record times and with highest quality with one machine!”

Efficient automation becomes increasingly important

What started in 2015 with a prototype for the company Glas Gasperlmair in Wagrain has been expanded into a remarkable portfolio in recent years. In addition to the flagship – the systron proHD glass processing center – which is used for seaming, grinding, polishing, drilling and cutting flat glass, there are various other machines such as a washing and drying station or a high-speed seaming machine in the product range. In addition, systron is known for individual special projects developed together with customers. Automation is also a top priority in the flat glass industry. With automation solutions such as glass storage or robots, systron’s processing systems can work up to an entire shift without a machine operator. This is significant added value for customers.

Own sheet metal production brings additional added value

Three years after the company was founded, systron invested in the modern location in Pfarrwald and consequently decided on in-house sheet metal production. They bought high-end metal processing systems such as a Trumpf fiber laser including fully automatic compact storage, folding, deburring, milling and turning machines. In this way, additional added value was created at the location. In addition, the technological know-how resulting from the high production depth in connection with constant further development increases the quality of the machines and the innovative strength of the company. “Our new building with three large production halls and warehouses and a two-storey office building has made a significant contribution to the development of our company and this has already had to be expanded. We are glad that we were able to master this rapid development together with our team and are always looking for motivated colleagues,” says Franz Schachner, referring to the job advertisements at www.systron.at/career.

„Glass technology of the very highest quality!“

– this is how Michaela Hinterholzer, Member of Parliament, and Wolfsbach’s Mayor Josef Unterberger proudly describe the entrepreneurial spirit of this company, which undoubtedly sets new international standards in CNC glass processing.
