VITRUM 2025: systron presents innovations and looks ahead with optimism

VITRUM 2025 in Milan offered systron a valuable opportunity to showcase new developments and engage in many discussions with customers and partners. Over four days, the focus at our booth in Hall 9 was on the latest solutions in vertical glass processing – especially the two product highlights systron proMD and systron pro.

“2025 was an intense year for the glass industry,” said Thomas Haan, Head of Sales at systron. “Many of our customers struggled with rising costs and labor shortages. But we clearly feel that demand is picking up again – the hardest times are behind us.”

proMD: compact, flexible, future-ready

The centrepiece of the trade show appearance was the new systron proMD processing centre, a CNC machining centre for drilling and milling. It combines speed, precision, and compact design – and can optionally be equipped with the popular waterjet technology.

The proMD is faster, more compact, and more versatile than anything we’ve built before,” Haan explained. “It is designed for customers who need maximum flexibility in minimum space – and want to be fully prepared for the future.”

pro with HELIX Drilling – a gamechanger for IGU producers

Alongside the proMD, systron also presented the new systron pro. It takes seaming, grinding, and polishing to a new performance level – and now also features HELIX Drilling.

“For IGU producers, this is a real gamechanger,” Haan emphasized.

“Whether shapes or rectangles, processing is always fast and reliable. At the same time, customers can achieve industrial-grade edge finishes, which are in strong demand right now.”

Automation as a key driver

A major topic at the show was automation. More and more customers are relying on robots, storage systems, and portal solutions to keep machines running for hours – or even entire shifts – without an operator.
Labor shortages are evident across all markets – whether in Finland, Spain, or Greece,” said Haan. “That’s why demand for automated systems is so strong, and we are ready to deliver these solutions.”

Positive outlook for 2026

Despite the challenges of the past years, systron looks to the future with confidence.
“2026 will be a very strong year – for us and for our customers,” Haan said.

“We want to further improve our service, strengthen our presence in Europe, and at the same time expand into new markets. With construction activity picking up again, we also expect rising demand for glass and, of course, for machines.”

Why systron?

„Because we offer the best overall package,” Haan concluded.

“We are service-driven, technology leaders – and most importantly, we care. Our customers can always reach us directly, without ticket systems or long waiting times. Combined with our technology, that makes systron a partner you can truly rely on.”
