Turning Complexity into Capability: systron Technology Opens Up New Possibilities for Ramos

From Madrid to the forefront of architectural glass processing – with over 40 years of experience, Ramos Industria del Vidrio is today one of Spain’s leading glass processing companies. With the integration of the new 5025proHD + WM system from systron, Ramos has significantly expanded its technological capabilities – increasing precision, efficiency, and opening new creative possibilities.

A Path of Continuous Development

Cristalerías Ramos was founded in 1984, during a key period for the industry, as insulated glazing gained traction in Spain. Since then, the company has built a reputation for ongoing investment in advanced technology and quality.

“We were pioneers in the double glazing market,”

says Carlos Ramos, owner and managing director. “In 2003, we added a Tamglass ProE tempering furnace, followed in 2008 by a complete PVB lamination line with autoclave and digital printing. That allowed us to fully close the loop in glass processing in-house.”

Today, Ramos operates three facilities in southern Madrid, employing 100 people across 8,000 m² of production space. The company ranks among the top 10 glass processors in Spain, with a focus on façade systems, interior architecture, and custom projects.

A Strategic Investment in systron Technology

In February 2025, Ramos commissioned its new systron 5025proHD + WM – a modern Glass Processing Centre including Waterjet Cutting that sets new standards in precision and product quality. The system was delivered in a custom white finish at the customer’s request.

“The decision didn’t come overnight,” says Ramos. “After years of evaluation, our visit to systron in 2023 confirmed what we had anticipated:

systron is a family-owned company with a clear vision, a highly professional team, and an innovative technology portfolio.”

Throughout the project, Ramos was supported by Tecnocrisa, systron’s local sales and service partner in Spain.

Immediate Results and New Possibilities

Since commissioning, the system has delivered decisive benefits. “It enables us to take on applications that were previously not feasible – particularly when it comes to special formats or decorative designs.”

The combination of waterjet precision and systron’s patented water cushion enables Ramos to process complex shapes, large formats, and coated glass sheets with exceptional quality.

“We’ve seen significant improvements in finish, dimensional accuracy, and processing speed.”

Smooth Integration – Reliable Operation

Despite space constraints at the facility, integration was smooth. “Thanks to advance training of our staff, we were able to start production from day one. Alongside the systron engineers, the Tecnocrisa team was also on site throughout the training and commissioning phase. That support made the transition to live operation much easier – and gave our team real confidence in the new technology.”

Today, the system runs in single-shift operation at full capacity, fully integrated into the existing production flow.

And the service? “Excellent – fast response times, high availability, efficient spare parts supply. We also stay in close contact with systron via remote support.”

A Clear Strategy for the Future

Cristalerías Ramos remains committed to continuous improvement. “In 2025 and 2026, we will continue expanding our capacity and integrating cutting-edge technologies – such as smart glass, XXL formats, and even more sustainable solutions.”

Sustainability plays a key role: “We work with suppliers who provide glass with a high recycled content and are constantly optimizing our processes to reduce our carbon footprint.”

The partnership with systron is also set to continue: “We’ll keep working together on projects that move the industry forward. systron has our full trust and support as they continue to develop the next generation of glass processing solutions.”
