VASGLASS expands CNC glass processing with systron

CNC glass processing of jumbo glass and complex special shapes is part of everyday production at VASGLASS in Greece. With two systron machining centers, the glass processor is expanding its capabilities for large formats and demanding geometries.

Two machines for large glass formats

Based in Vasiliko near Chalkida, VASGLASS manufactures glass solutions for demanding architectural and marine projects. Its capabilities include thermally treated glass, laminated and insulating glass, CNC processing, waterjet cutting and the production of customized glass geometries.

In April 2025, VASGLASS invested in a systron proHD glass processing center with waterjet for jumbo glass up to 7 × 3.3 m. This enables vertical CNC processing of large-format glass panels.

A systron proMDH with waterjet for glass formats up to 6 × 3.3 m and glass thicknesses up to 25 mm followed in August 2026. The second machine increases processing capacity while providing additional flexibility for different glass formats and project requirements.

Vasilis Vasiliou, owner of VASGLASS:

„Our investment decisions are driven by the projects we want to realize for our customers. Expanding our CNC capabilities gives us more options to keep demanding processing steps within our own production.“

A new solution for round glass processing

In addition to glass size, geometry is a key factor. VASGLASS processes a wide range of special shapes, complex contours and cut-outs – applications for which systron’s vertical CNC machining centers are designed.

With the new systron proMDH, the cooperation goes one step further. The machine will receive a specially developed adapter for processing round glass up to 3 m in diameter. This additional feature is being developed specifically for the requirements of VASGLASS.

Georgios Zampaklis, Technical Manager at VASGLASS:

“Many of the glass panels we process are not standard shapes. For us, it is essential to process large and complex glass precisely while remaining flexible for new geometries.”

From jumbo glass to customized special shapes

With two systron machining centers installed within approximately 16 months, VASGLASS is systematically expanding its CNC glass processing capabilities.

The new adapter for round glass also demonstrates how the cooperation is developing: specific requirements from glass production are analyzed together and translated into practical technical solutions.

A detailed Success Story covering the applications, machining processes and experiences of VASGLASS will follow directly from its production facility in Greece.
